Mahsa Borzouyan Dastjerdi is a dedicated PhD student at the University of Newcastle, specialising in medical engineering.
Her current research focuses on developing innovative surgical meshes to enhance internal wound healing, particularly for anastomosis wound healing, with a strong emphasis on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
Passionate about advancing biomedical solutions, Mahsa designs biomaterial scaffolds for 3D cell culture and organoid modeling. She has prior experience in cardiovascular tissue engineering, utilizing induced pluripotent stem cells differentiated on nanofibrous scaffolds, and possesses expertise in bioprinting.

Mahsa’s work is driven by a commitment to improving regenerative therapies through cutting-edge biomaterial innovations.
