Dr María Gómez Martín is a dietitian and early career researcher in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Newcastle, Australia. She completed her degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at Alfonso X “”El Sabio”” University in Madrid, Spain, and completed her Master’s in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism in 2017 from the University of Barcelona, Spain.

Dr. Gómez Martín obtained her PhD from the University of Oviedo (Spain) in December 2022. Her research focused on how diet influences the establishment of the gut microbiota during the first three years of life. Since completing her PhD, her research has centered on precision and personalised nutrition, particularly examining the interplay between diet and the application of multi-omic technologies
