When exacerbations do occur, treatment options are limited and have developed little in recent years. A major cause of exacerbation is viral infections. This study will investiagte the immume pathways activated when when airways cells are infected with rhinovirus. In the hope that this work will lead to new treatment approaches for asthmatics experiencing exacerbations.
